The short version

Splitpea keeps track of what people owe each other. It is a record, not a bank: no money moves through it, and nothing here makes anybody legally obliged to pay anybody. What you settle between yourselves is between yourselves.

Your account

You need an account, and you are responsible for what happens under it. Tell us at [email protected] if you think somebody else has got into it.

What you put in

Your expenses and receipts are yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people you have chosen to share them with, which is the whole point of the app, and nothing more.

Do not upload things you have no right to upload, and do not use Splitpea to harass anybody — the reminder feature is deliberately limited for that reason.

Getting the sums right

We take the arithmetic seriously and test it hard, but Splitpea is provided as it is, without warranty. Check anything that matters. We are not liable for what you decide to pay each other.

Ending it

Delete your account whenever you like, from inside the app. We may close an account that is being used to abuse other people or our servers.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
