Scanning a receipt

Tap Scan a receipt on a new expense, or share a photo to Splitpea from anywhere in iOS. Flat, in reasonable light, whole receipt in frame works best. Creased and crumpled is usually fine. If a line comes out wrong, edit it on the review screen before you save — the reader is there to save typing, not to be trusted blindly.

The first scan after a quiet spell can take up to a minute while the reader wakes up. After that it is a few seconds.

Giving each line to the right person

On the review screen choose Assign items, then drag a line onto somebody, or tap the line to pick several people to share it. Anything you leave unassigned is split across everybody, and tax and tip are divided in proportion to what each person actually ordered.

Bringing your history from another app

Export a group as CSV from Splitwise, Tricount or Settle Up, then import it in Splitpea. You are shown what was found, and asked who each name is, before anything is saved. Balances come across exactly.

Inviting somebody

Share the invite link for the group. They do not need the app to be added — you can put somebody in a group by email, and their balance is waiting when they sign up.

Notifications are not arriving

Check Account → notifications inside Splitpea, and iOS Settings → Splitpea → Notifications. If the switch inside the app says they are on and nothing arrives, write to us with your name and roughly when you expected one.

Deleting your account

Account → Delete account, inside the app. It removes your profile, devices, receipts and diagnostics. Or write to [email protected].

Still stuck

[email protected]. Tell us what you did, what happened, and roughly when — the app keeps its own notes about failures, and that timestamp is usually enough to find the cause.
